Athena Micra 6 Home Theater Speaker Review

Six speakers round out a surround sound speaker system needed for a true home theater experience including the subwoofer and center channel. Top of the line surround sound speakers can be the biggest expense when purchasing a home theater system. Its very easy to spend a lot of money on home theater equipment if you don't know what you are looking for.

However, price does not always determine whether a speaker system is of high quality or not. In fact, sometimes the best surprises come in inexpensive packages. Here is a home theater speaker review on the Athena Technologies™ Micra 6 home theater speaker system.

One of the biggest challenges to home theater equipment buyers is the installation of the products they buy, and the speaker system can be the biggest problem of all. There are more wires that have to run farther distances than any other component in the surround sound setup. Athena™ makes installation easy to set up by providing the speaker wires in the box which are ready to go. They also provide a clear wiring diagram that can be read by anyone, even the most technically challenged among us.

The surround sound system consists of four satellite speakers with each speaker having a long throw woofer and a high powered tweeter while making it compact and powerful enough to work with almost any room. These speakers are capable of producing great sound in an average size room. If you have a large room, you may have trouble filling it with this speaker system. The Athena™ Micra 6 speaker system is the lower end of the price scale designed for rooms approximately 400 sq ft or less.

The matching MC center channel fills the room with midrange sounds which helps to balance the rest of the speakers for the best possible home theater sound. Completing the system is the M225 8" active subwoofer. Designed exclusively for the MICRA system, this unique low frequency subwoofer takes very little floor space while providing a clean and distortion free deep bass response.

The MICRA system was designed as the perfect addition to any home theater system using Plasma or LCD type screens as the slim profile and high tech silver finish matches many flat screen monitors. The versatile mounting brackets provide a simple, strong solution to any type of system installation and allow for angled horizontal adjustment to point the speakers towards the listening area.

The best part of this whole system is the cost which is under $400 on some websites. So if you want to step up to a surround sound experience for your home theater system, but just can't afford the big bucks right now, consider this home theater speaker review of the Athena™ Micra 6 and see if it doesn't fit the bill.
