UPDATE: Firmware Version 1.5 adds MKV container support and H.264 playback. I have not tested this yet, but will report back when I have. The Real HT Info Podcast brings you a video review of the D-Link DSM-330. This new media streamer, from the DIVX Connected folks, plays 720p Divx, Hulu, You Tube, and more. It has a great interface, but does it have enough functionality?

Once again, I'm not sure how active the development on this product is anymore. I'd say, it's borderline orphaned. That being said, h.264 is supposed to work. Try the D-link forums for more info.

Hulu often actively blocks it's content from media streamers and non-standard OS systems such as these, especially now that they have a pay option for mobile and other media devices with Hulu Plus. I'd guess it either Hulu actively thwarting support, or simply a change made in their infrastructure that the outdated plugins don't support.Hopefully, even though this system is a little long in the tooth, support continues for those who purchased it.

Does anyone have a clue as to why HULU (as well as a variety of other plug- ins) are NOT working??? Updated everything, newest version of HULU plug-in... doesn't work... Kind of irritating.

@realhtinfo Another thing I just thought of is that if you have wifi you can share media from windows 7 to the PS3. We pull up video's, and pictures that are on wifes laptop all the time using the PS3 . Plus you can play video game, and it has a blu-ray player...

Respond to this video...You can install Linux on a PS3 I've done it before... PS3's have an option to install other OSes... Plus a PS3 has a remote, you can get on youtube, and watch Netflix on the PS3 ...

@maw88ify Not sure the discussion of OSes is relevant when discussing Media Extenders and other devices with embedded OS. Please keep your future comments more germane.

I don't understand why you didn't just use the Mythbuntu operating system ... The truth is I don't need any thing like this because my PS3 will play almost any video I have if I just plug an external drive int the front in the usb port... and any video that wont play I just run " mencoder " in Linux Ubuntu, and encode it and put it back on the drive ... But I would Mythbuntu as a Home Theater operating system ... I'm a fan of "Moovida Media Center"

While the core functionality of the HDX won't differ drastically from the Popcorn Hour A110 or the Elektron EHP-606 (same Syabas underpinnings and relatively similar hardware), the things that are likely to put the HDX ahead of the crowd are:-Hardware On/Off-Both Optical and Coax Digital Audio-Card Reader built inI will look into getting an HDX for complete video review.Thank for watching.
