@OMGitsAshtonlawl Err...no. It's simultaneously a satire of the culture of trying to be cool. The lengths people will go to by name dropping music in an attempt to stay ahead of the times, in an age where anyone can know anything instantly. And the fact that as he gets older, the things that he once had are no longer at the forefront of the zeitgeist. Funny thing is in doing this he refashioned the zeitgeist in his own image.Captain Beefheart - 1965, Can - 1968, James Murphy - 1970 = joke

this song performed live was absolutely massive when I saw it at their show at Metropolis in Montreal in summer 2010. SO MUCH LOVE FOR LCD.
