I`m trying to recored standard composite through my Hauppauge 1600 and 150 PVR in Ubuntu 11.04 and I`m having trouble getting it to work. I have been trying Myth TV(others as well) and have had no luck setting it up. Can anyone help with tips on how to set it up for composite video? More specifically, I want to recored off my PS3. I have gotten it to show a blank screen in Frontend, but there was no video or sound. Any help at all is appreciated.

@GuitaryAlex so how come debian mint isn't compatible with ubuntu?
bumer2314 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
@noobenstein That's because you have a MAC... LOL Mainstreamer products tend to be more restricted in software policy's and you have steps to complete because you need something from your own specific MAC. If you get regular, normal functional machine that wasn't entirely made just to take your money and support slavery then you will have no issues. And the software isn't SHIT because you can't install it, It's amazing because people wrote it for you, for FREE. AND they worked very hard on it

goochbuntu (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)

a) No. You are supposed to be separated from this stuff. Some layer is supposed to take care of hardware details. You would assume Ubuntu takes care of that part.b) No. If there are special things that need to be done, the computer is the thing that should be doing it.It's amazing that you can turn a device that is supposed to save you time by doing crap pointless work, into a device that makes you work for it.If there are instructions, your installer should do them not the user.

@noobenstein a.) it's a mac mini. for each hardware installation has it's own specific needsb.) what's so hard about copy and paste? just follow the instructions you don't have to understand the code.
